The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is committed to inclusion, diversity and equity. As part of its mission, the Municipality aims to create a welcoming community, serving the needs of an increasingly diverse population.

Regional Advisory Committee on Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (RACIDE) consists of community members who are passionate about diversity and inclusion. Members who work with the Wood Buffalo community to develop actions plans and initiatives that help create a more welcoming and inclusive community for all.

Responsibilities:
• Foster and promote awareness of issues of inclusion, diversity and equality in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
• Advise, promote and foster the development of policies, programs and activities directed towards inclusion, diversity and equity.
• Explore and recommend strategies to encourage proactive responses regarding issues of inclusion, diversity and equity in alignment with being an inclusive and welcoming community.
• Develop strategies to remove barriers and address issues of inclusion, diversity and equity in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
• Advise and report to Council on an annual basis or as needed based on circumstances.

Collection of Demographic Information: Demographic information is collected through the application process as Committees Bylaw No. 17/024 considers representation of equity-deserving groups for some boards and committees. By collecting this information, demographic information will enhance the recruitment and selection process to reduce barriers for equity-deserving groups.
